Carbide Endmills
Designed for Manufacturability (DFM) under the dimensional
customizing category.

of DFM.
This is a product line for a client that designs and manufactures Carbide endmills. This client has many types of endmills that have a standard size range as well as many possible variations of custom sizes and features. The client hired Synergic Productions to design a master program for each endmill in their product line. The master program is a fully parametric program capable of auto generating any possible variation of the endmill by analyzing the user defined variables and calculating the changes they make to the parametrics. The series of steps outlined below are to help you get a detailed explanation of how Synergic Productions creates the master program and what the master program actually does.
The process starts with a product line, click a thumbnail to preview
the various product lines.
The next step begins with identifying parametric variables and user defined variables. Once those are determined the product is designed and modeled in SolidWorks. This is a one time step never again will any modeling or designing be necessary!
Once the model has been created, custom “native environment programming”
begins; this is the brain behind the operation. The programs
job is to analyze the user defined input and calculate the
change to the parametrics.

processes for one of the endmills.

Once the program has done this its next job is to relay that
data back to SolidWorks and any associated files ie. BOM’s,
tolerance tables, inspection lists, parts, assemblies, and
drawings. To

Now that SolidWorks and all associated files have been updated
with values that the program has computed, the last step
is simply opening the auto generated 2D shop prints and making
a few minor adjustments to the dimensions and drawing views
for presentation purposes. Every dimension, every tolerance
and every note is 100% fully automated! Click

print for one of the endmills. Note: All proprietary and confidential
information has been concealed with “Θ”, “?” or “0”.
